These terms cover your use of heightlens.com (“Height Lens”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use it — there is no account to close either way.
What Height Lens is
Height Lens is a free height comparison tool. You type or pick heights, and the site draws them to scale on one chart and works out the differences. There is no account, no subscription and nothing to pay. The comparison itself runs in your browser.
We provide the site as it is, when it is available. We may change, add or remove features, data and pages at any time, and we don’t promise any particular uptime. Nothing here is a contract to keep a feature running.
The heights are estimates, not measurements
This is the part that matters most. Almost every figure on this site is a reported height rather than one we measured. The 69 celebrity heights come from press and agency sources that routinely disagree by several centimetres. The 17 character heights are figures stated by the works they come from. Country averages measure 19-year-olds, not all adults. Percentiles assume a normal distribution with an assumed standard deviation. Our methodology sets out every source and every limit in full.
So: use Height Lens for curiosity, design work, writing, teaching and settling arguments. Do not use it as medical, legal, safety or employment advice, to assess a child’s growth, or for anything where being a few centimetres wrong has consequences. If a number here matters to a decision, verify it at the source.
What you may do with the output
- Charts you make are yours. Export them, publish them, print them, use them in a video, an article or a commercial project. No attribution is required, though a link back is appreciated.
- Share links freely. A comparison URL is meant to be passed around.
- Quote our figures in your own work, with a link back to the page you took them from so your readers can see how well the height is evidenced.
What you may not do
- Bulk-extract the datasets. Scraping the celebrity, character, comparison or country data wholesale — by hand or by script — to rebuild it elsewhere is not permitted. Individual figures with a citation are fine.
- Hammer the site with automated traffic or anything else that degrades it for other people.
- Copy the site itself — its code, design, written pages or data compilation — and republish it.
- Present our estimates as verified measurements, or strip the “measured / officially listed / commonly reported” labels that say how well a figure is actually known.
- Use the tool unlawfully or to harass anyone, including through the names you put in a chart and share.
Photos and names you enter
Images and names you add stay on your device — they are processed in your browser and never uploaded to us, as our privacy policy explains. Two consequences follow. First, you are responsible for having the right to use any photo you add and for whatever you type into a name field. Second, because a shared link carries names and heights inside the URL, anyone with that link can read them: don’t put anything private, or anything about another person that they wouldn’t want shared, into a chart you intend to send on.
Names, trademarks and sources
Real people, films, games and franchises are named here for identification and reference only. Their trademarks and rights belong to their owners, and nothing on this site implies affiliation with, sponsorship by or endorsement from any of them. If you are the subject of a page, or represent one, and a figure is wrong, send us the correct number and a source and we will fix the data — see contact.
Links to other sites
We link to the studies, records and publications behind our numbers. Those sites are not ours: we don’t control what they publish, and their terms and privacy policies apply once you leave.
No warranty
Height Lens is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. You use it at your own risk.
Limits of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any decision you make on the basis of a figure, chart or percentile from this site. This is a free tool with no account and no payment, and that is the basis on which it is offered. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Privacy
Our privacy policy forms part of these terms. The short version: no accounts, no tracking scripts, no cookies, and your photos never leave your device.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The “last updated” date above moves when they do, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised terms. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the record.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site.
